Midnight Never Come by Marie Brennan

In history and myth, there are a great many stories about faeries (Good Folk, Fae Folk, Good Neighbors, etc.) influenceing the human world. In this world, such things really do go on. Underneath the expanse that is the city of London, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, there lies an entire Other Court. The Onyx Court. And within it lives Lady Lune.

On the outs with the Queen of Faerie England, Invidiana, Lune must work was Invidiana’s agent in the Elizabethan court, glamoured as a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth. There she must ply her skills and her wits to serve her mistress’s wims and plans, even as the risk of losing the mortal man that she’s fallen in love with.

I love faerie stories! And one that combines my favorite historical era with faerie courts, that’s top nothch in my book. 🙂 Marie Brennan does a wonderful job of blending the two worlds and I love her writing style. If you like faeries and faery courts, you should definitely give this a try. 🙂

AND Marie is a local Indiana writer so there’s another bonus. ^_^
